أعلنت رئاسة الأركان الفرنسية مساء الأربعاء أنّ باريس قرّرت سحب جنودها من العراق حيث يشاركون في عمليات تدريب وذلك بسبب تفشّي وباء كوفيد-19.
وقالت رئاسة الأركان في بيان إنّه “بالتنسيق مع الحكومة العراقية، قرّر التحالف تعديل حجم انتشاره في العراق وتعليق أنشطة تدريب قوات الأمن العراقية مؤقتاً ولا سيّما بالنظر إلى الأزمة الصحي”.
وأضافت أنّه بناء عليه “قرّرت فرنسا أن تسحب، حتى إشعار آخر، جنودها المنتشرين في العراق في إطار عملية شامال”.
